Video Review: Mobee Magic Charger for Apple Magic Mouse
Feb 29th

The Mobee Magic Charger is basically a rechargeable battery pack for your Apple Magic Mouse. It comes with a USB powered charging station and of course the battery pack. The Magic Charger retails for about $50 and can be viewed on MobeeTechnology.com.
Pros
The charging station itself is very, very slim and fits in perfectly with your Mac setup. The bottom of the station has two rubber strips so the station will not move around on your desk. As I mentioned above, it is powered by USB, which means it is very portable and good for on-the-go charging.
The battery pack is very light-weight and is definitely lighter than the standard two double A batteries that the Magic Mouse uses. For me, this is a good thing, but the weight difference is definitely something to get used to. The battery is also very similar to that of Apple’s. It is all aluminum and the only difference is the Mobee logo and the cutout for the on/off switch.
Cons
The only downfall I did find to this product is the battery pack. The original one that came with it had a defective battery. The conductor was all messed up and the mouse would not turn on once I fully inserted the battery pack. However, I did contact Mobee Support and they were very good with replacing the battery. The second one came very quickly and it did work. It is good to know that a company will replace their defective products quickly.
Verdict
Rating: 4.5/5
The Mobee Magic Charger is definitely worth getting if you are constantly using the Magic Mouse. The battery pack lasts for about 5-6 days of heavy usage with only a 6 hour charging time. I can definitely recommend this product, especially if you find yourself replacing the batteries in your mouse often. Again, it retails for $50 and can be viewed here.

TSF Shell Now Available For Android – Bold New Launcher Will Make You And Your Wallet Cry at $17
Feb 29th

The wait is finally over. After counting down the minutes since last night’s blog post on from the developers site, TSF Shell is now officially available for (most ) Android devices. I have to say, I didn’t believe it would release on schedule, or at all for that matter, but here we are on launch day and — good gawd, the app is $17! Okay, I’ll suck it up and pay. For science.

After giving TSF a whirl on my Samsung Galaxy Note (video coming soon), I’m surprised to say, it performs exactly like it did in the preview trailer. The launcher clocks-in somewhere around 60fps when scrolling, moving or arranging icons (yup, my eyes are that good). I’ll even go as far as saying you probably wont find a smoother launcher anywhere else in the Market. The best part is, while there are plenty of launcher alternatives in the Market, TSF Shell works just fine for devices not yet upgraded to Android 4.0.
The high price tag, dare I say it, also gives you this strange feeling of superiority. Like buying a Gucci bad or Prada shoes. You know not every kid is going to have this launcher installed on their phone. You’ll want to show this off to your friends.
There seems to be a pretty big learning curve seeing how TSF doesn’t exactly behave like traditional Android. Still for those bold enough to download TSF Shell, it’s a welcome addition to the Market and testament to the versatility of Android. Oh, and damn good programming. Gosh, it’s beautiful. Anyone out there going to give TAT UI — er, I mean, TSF Shell a shot?

Promoted Tweets Coming to Official Twitter App
Feb 29th

If you a Twitter user, you are already familiar with Promoted Tweets, which is Twitter’s fancy name for “ads”. Now, the official Android Twitter app will bring these promotions to your timeline:
Promoted Tweets will appear in your timeline like any other Tweet, and like regular Tweets, they will appear in your timeline just once; as you scroll, the Promoted Tweet will flow with the rest of the Tweets in your timeline.
The promoted tweets were already accessible in the timeline of desktop and mobile versions of Twitter, but had only appeared in searches in the official Android app. Recent updates to the app had added “Promoted Accounts” suggestions in your “Who to Follow” section. In the coming weeks, the app will show promoted tweets in your timeline from brands or companies that you are currently following.
If you feel that the promoted tweet isn’t relevant (or you think it’s just plain annoying) you can remove it from your timeline with a single swipe.
For now, it appears this will not apply to third-party Twitter Android apps.

StarTram maglev would launch cargo up a mountain and into space
Feb 29th
![]()
Rockets are a lousy way of getting stuff into space, because most of what they lift is their own fuel. We’re still using rockets because we don’t have a space elevator yet, but an innovative interim solution could be a maglev vacuum tube that launches cargo up the side of a mountain and straight into low Earth orbit for dirt cheap.
