A short 17 second teaser video about what ASUS will be showing off at Mobile World Congress 2012 has been posted to YouTube. The video starts with the simple question, “Eager to see more detail?” while we watch a bunch of bouncing balls arrange themselves in a box to form what is obviously a tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It finishes by saying, “Twice the detail, twice the fun. Endless possibilities.”
The post about this video on the ASUS Facebook page is filled with comments from people guessing what they are teasing. Many folks believe this is in reference to the Transformer Prime HD (TF700), which comes in at a sharp 1920 x 1200 resolution (that’s WUXGA 1080p, folks). This sure sounds plausible, especially since the video uses balls as pixels to make up a screen, alluding to screen resolution.
Other guesses include a dual-screen device, the ASUS Padfone, and a dual boot tablet. Though these are interesting guesses, my money is on the Prime HD.
Interestingly, the description of the video on YouTube says:
ASUS Mobile World Congress 2012 Teaser alert!! Join us at MWC in Barcelona as we introduce a coming together of productivity and entertainment solutions on Feb 27.
Not sure what the coming together of productivity and entertainment really means… I mean, my Motorola Xoom brings together productivity and entertainment quite nicely, so it will be interesting to see what ASUS is planning. Just a few days left and we’ll know for sure!
