Nintendo downplays NGP, iOS and Android threat on 3DS
Mar 30th
The gaming war in the handheld space is about to get really ugly. Nintendo might have successfully launched its new glasses-free 3DS handheld in the U.S. to the tune of “best U.S. launch day sales records,” but what about Sony’s encroaching NGP, Apple’s delectable iOS devices or Android? Is old Nintendo concerned?

Waze Giving Away Nintendo 3DS, Contest Runs Today Only
Mar 28th
Our good friends over at Waze — the GPS-meets-social-networking app — are running a contest today only (sorry for the late notice!) to give away a free Nintendo 3DS. The contest actually sounds really fun, and I wish I’d been able to give you guys more notice, because we’re looking at just a few hours left. But here’s how the contest works:
1. Download & open the FREE Waze app for your Android phone
2. Register your Waze profile (you must be a registered user to win!)
3. Once an hour, Mario™ will appear on the map – When you see him, tap him!
4. Tap “Navigate” to follow Mario and route to your nearest Nintendo launch event and collect mushrooms and coins along the way!
5. Collect the final power-up star to be automatically entered into the drawing for a chance to win a Nintendo 3DS™ system, video games, and more!
6. Head inside to the launch event and check out the new Nintendo 3DS in action!
Waze is a totally cool app, and I recommend checking it out even if you miss the contest, but if you’re reading this today, be sure and download the app and check it out…who knows, you might be the lucky winner of a new 3DS!

Get Ready For Nintendo 3DS.
Mar 24th
I’m like a kid at Christmas at the moment what with the impending launch of Nintendo’s latest games console, the 3DS – and not before time too as my old DS is well, shall we say, looking a bit worse for wear. But as it’s been my trusty traveling companion for some time now, I can’t say that it hasn’t lasted well. More than I can say for the half a dozen styluses I have managed to misplace.
So with that said, it makes perfect sense to buy myself a Nintendo 3Ds case and a spare 3DS Stylus or 2. Our sister site GamingZap.com is a goldmine for 3DS accessories and I’ve decided on buying the following items to help me get the best from my new 3DS.
The Officially Licensed Expedition Case for Nintendo 3DS is perfect for looking after my new 3DS when I’m out and about and with the stylish 3D artwork design it’s the perfect match for my new console! The case can hold up to 6 extra games and 2 replacement styluses – which I’ll get onto in a minute. The soft inner layers of Expedition 3DS cases protect your system from scratches and wear and tear.
The Crown Nintendo 3DS Stylus Twin Pack is my next port of call. Featuring the same metallic finish as the official Nintendo 3DS stylus, the retractable stylus can be changed in size to suit any hand or the length that you prefer. With the Expedition Case having enough room for the spare styluses, these are a must for me.
So armed with new case and spare styluses, it’s just left for me to smash a few high scores on Rabbids and Rayman in full 3D!
