Time Schafer’s Double Fine Adventure Coming Soon To (Some) Android Devices
Feb 17th

If I told you video games weren’t always about shooting hookers and chopping off zombie limbs, you’d look at me like I was madman. But it’s true. Back in my day, adventure games were all the rage and Time Schafer was one of the brilliant minds bringing these titles to life with games like Day of the Tentacle and The Secret of Monkey Island.

Seeing how major video game publishers aren’t exactly lining up to throw money into another adventure title, Tim and his team at Double Fine Studios have taken to Kickstarter to gain the necessary funding from fans all around the world who would be willing to shell out the money for a new point-and-click adventure. The good news is, Double Fine has raised well above the money needed to get the project rolling hitting a little over $1,900,000 of their $400,000 goal. The better news? Now that they have the necessary funding, Double Fine will be walking us through the entire project as they develop Double Fine Adventure with an eventual release on just about every platform — including Android.
See? It’s not all “patent this” and “sue them” in the tech world. Every now and again, the stars align and people all over the world can join together and fight for something they truly love. Way to go, Double Fine!
Tim also made a pretty hilarious Kickstarter video that you can watch by following the link below. Anyone else excited about this?

Apple Remains World’s Most Valuable Company, Stock Closes Above $500 for the First Time Ever
Feb 14th

Apple’s stock closed above $500 today after reaching the milestone earlier in mid-day trading. This marks a significant moment in Apple’s history, and raises serious excitement about just how high the stock may go.

At $502.60 per share, and with a market cap of nearly $469 billion, Apple remains the most valuable company in the world, nearly $70 billion ahead of their nearest competitor, Exxon Mobil.
With the impending release of the iPad 3, new MacBook Pros rumored for later this year, a new iPhone in the summer or fall, and nearly all of their product lines due for a refresh, how long will it be before they reach $600 per share? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it before the end of the year.

Lapse It app; for all those that are jealous of ICS Time Lapse video feature
Feb 12th

We know many of you have grown to be in love with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Many users are not lucky enough to own a Samsung Galaxy Nexus just yet, though. One of the best features in Google’s newest OS version happens to be time lapse video recording. And if you have been dying to make your time lapse videos, the new app, Lapse It, will be able to give you your fix.
The application is simple to use, and offers some great functionality for all the time lapse shooters out there. Not only can the user take time lapse shots, but the app includes some basic editing capabilities. One can trim the video and add music, as well as some cool effects.
There are both a free and pro version. The former lacking certain capabilities; like HD shooting (up to 720p), the ability to use the front-facing camera and access to soundtracks. So if you aren’t happy with 240p resolution, the best option is to purchase the Pro version, which goes for $1.99 on the Android Market.
Check out the Android Market for more details, or hit up the source link to go directly to the official website. Lapse away!

Siri Says the Darndest Things: Love, Strippers, and Story Time!
Feb 12th
Time for another episode in that wacky series, “Siri Says the Darndest Things”! When we last left our heroine, she was answering questions! (DUH!)
Some people love Siri a bit too much, but I supposed that’s OK, since Valentine’s Day is next week…
There are certain requirements for the job…
There are certain specific things Siri needs to know to give an accurate answer…
I don’t know if I should be disturbed she knows where to find naked women, or the fact that there are 22 places to find them in a 12 mile radius of my home…
Yeah, maybe I really should find a new neighborhood…
Siri says she’s no relation to HAL 9000, but…
She has the same attitude as HAL sometimes…
She doesn’t think she’s a good story teller, but once she gets going…
That’s all for this week! Have a great weekend everyone! We’ll see you next week with more gems from Siri!
